Good news for all those who aspire to join the Indian Army after Class 12! The Army has officially released the Merit List for the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES-54), offering young science stream students a golden opportunity to become officers — that too without appearing for the NDA written examination.

Let’s go through the key details of the TES-54 merit list, how to check it, and what comes next in the selection process — explained in a simple and clear way.

About the 10+2 TES Entry

The Technical Entry Scheme (TES) is exclusively for male candidates who have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and have qualified with the required JEE Mains cut-off marks set by the Indian Army.

The selection process for TES does not include any written exam. Instead, candidates are shortlisted based on their JEE Mains score, followed by the SSB Interview and Medical Examination.

The TES-54 Course will commence in January 2026 at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun.

How the TES-54 Merit List is Prepared

The TES-54 Merit List is based on the candidate’s performance in the SSB Interview and medical fitness status.

While JEE Mains scores are used for shortlisting candidates for the SSB Interview, they are not considered in the final merit list.

Only candidates who have:
Successfully cleared the SSB Interview, and
 Been declared Medically Fit,
are included in the Final Merit List.

However, being on the merit list does not automatically guarantee a joining letter. The final call depends on merit order, medical status, and availability of vacancies.
