The answer: SSB interviews are held at multiple centres across India, and the location is assigned by the board. You cannot choose your centre — the details will be mentioned in your call letter or email once you qualify for the interview.
Why Are There Multiple SSB Centres?
The SSB (Services Selection Board) is not like a regular exam. It’s a five-day process designed to assess your personality, mental strength, leadership potential, teamwork skills, and overall suitability to become an officer.

Since lakhs of candidates appear every year, conducting interviews at a single location would be impossible. That’s why the SSB has separate centres across the country, all following the same testing procedure.
Indian Army SSB Centres in India
The Indian Army has the most SSB boards. Each centre is known as a Selection Centre and hosts multiple SSB boards.

You cannot choose your SSB centre. Once you clear your written exam (like NDA, CDS, AFCAT, or INET), you will receive a call letter with the following details:
