At Shield Defence Academy, we guide and mentor aspiring women candidates to prepare confidently for the Combined Defence Services Examination and turn their dream into reality.
What is the CDS Exam?
The Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam is conducted by UPSC twice every year to recruit officers for India’s premier defence academies — IMA, INA, AFA, and OTA. For women, the entry is exclusively through Officers’ Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, which trains women candidates for the Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army.
Why Should Women Choose CDS?
Before diving into the eligibility details, here’s why the CDS exam is an incredible career opportunity for women:
-
A Career of Honour: Serving as an Army officer brings immense respect, dignity, and pride.
-
Leadership Opportunities: You’ll be leading teams, making decisions, and handling real responsibility.
-
Empowerment and Equality: The Indian Armed Forces are increasingly opening doors for women in leadership and operational roles.
-
Career Flexibility: The SSC offers a 10-year service period, extendable to 14 years, with an opportunity for Permanent Commission later.
At Shield Defence Academy, we’ve seen countless young women transform into confident leaders ready to take charge through our expert CDS preparation programs.
