The Indian Air Force (IAF) has officially released the AFCAT 01/2026 Notification for the January 2027 course, inviting applications for Commissioned Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) branches. AFCAT 1 2026 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility varies depending on the branch chosen:
Flying Branch
- Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level OR
- B.E./B.Tech degree from a recognized university.
Ground Duty (Technical Branch)
- Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics): 10+2 with Physics & Mathematics (60%) and a 4-year degree in Engineering/Technology.
- Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical): 10+2 with Physics & Mathematics (60%) and a 4-year degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Aeronautical Engineering.
Ground Duty (Non-Technical Branch)
- Administration & Logistics: Bachelor’s degree with 60% marks.
- Accounts: B.Com with 60% marks.
- Education: MBA/MCA/MA/M.Sc with 50% marks.
Physical Standards:
- Male: Minimum height – 157.5 cm
- Female: Minimum height – 152 cm
Meteorology Branch
- Master’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
NCC Special Entry
- NCC Air Wing Senior Division “C” Certificate required along with other flying branch qualifications.
